The International Congress on Desert Economy - Dakhla (ICDED), annually co-organized by the National School of Business and Management (ENCG) of Dakhla-Morocco and the Regional Council of Dakhla Oued Eddahab, is intended to be a scientific meeting for exchanging successful experiences, creative ideas and know-how on issues of economic and social development in arid lands and desert areas. It aims to bring together specialized academic researchers, practitioners and economic actors in general, as well as, politicians and development experts from around the world, to enrich the debate, on economic and social issues and concerns in desertic regions and drylands.

Thus, this scientific event, comes in the context of Morocco's determined commitment and responsibility towards its African depth. This engagement is dictated by historical, geographical and cultural links and mainly concretized in Morocco's Southern Provinces, which constitute the link between Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa. Although, these provinces are located in the desert, they have made considerable progress, in record time, thanks to the implementation of some specific development strategies adapted to Saharan regions, including, the New Development Model for Morocco's Southern Provinces.

Dr.  Elouali AAILAL : President and Coordinator of the International Congress on Desert  Economy -  Dakhla.

President of the   " Desert Action"   Association, Dakhla.
